Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan plans to launch a logistics center with a capacity of 500,000 tonnes in the Georgian port of Poti in 2027 and begin practical implementation of a project in the port of Anaklia, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs.

In addition to the facilities in Georgia, major transport and logistics centers are planned for construction in Alat, Termez, Yangiyul, Akhangaran, and Khanabad. The construction timelines and financial costs for these domestic projects have not yet been specified.

To support the transport and logistics sector, tax and customs measures are being introduced in Uzbekistan. Customs duties and recycling fees have been abolished on the import of cargo trucks.

Furthermore, a zero rate of value-added tax will be applied to the provision of railway wagons for international cargo transport.

The development of transport and logistics infrastructure is expected to expand capabilities for international transport and support business operations within the sector.
