Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Executive Committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has approved Uzbekistan as the host of the 2027 AFC U-17 Asian Cup. The decision was made at the organization's latest meeting.

The committee also confirmed that Saudi Arabia will host the 2029 AFC U-17 Asian Cup.

In addition, Japan was selected to stage the 2028 AFC U-23 Asian Cup.

The tournament will serve as Asia's qualifying competition for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The meeting also approved amendments to the regulations governing the AFC's club and youth competitions. Beginning with the 2026/27 season, the AFC Champions League Elite will be held in a new format featuring 32 teams.

The changes will also affect the qualification system for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup.
