Uzbekistan studies China’s sustainable mining practices
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining and Geology and its subordinate organizations studied China’s experience in sustainable mining and the rational use of mineral resources during a seminar held in Beijing and Xi’an from 5 to 18 August.
The seminar, titled “Sustainable Development of the Mining Industry in Uzbekistan,” brought together specialists responsible for the strategic development and transformation of the sector, the Ministry of Mining and Geology said.
Participants studied China’s experience in geology and mining, as well as approaches to the efficient and rational use of mineral resources.
Particular attention was paid to the application of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles, environmental monitoring and the digitalization of geological processes. The knowledge gained during the seminar was complemented by an introduction to practical solutions used in China’s mining industry.
In Xi’an, participants reviewed the Geosite system, which is designed to digitalize geological exploration processes.
They also studied the practical experience of major Chinese industrial enterprises in sustainable development.
The seminar focused on exchanging experience in geological development, efficient use of mineral resources, environmental issues and the digital transformation of the mining industry.
