Uzbekistan Senate Approves New Honorary Title for Utilities Workers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis has approved a law establishing the honorary title “Honored Worker of Public Utilities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
The new title will replace the existing “Honored Worker of Public Utilities, Consumer Services and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan” title. The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan reported this.
Under the law, the honorary title will be awarded to workers who have made a significant contribution to the development of public utilities and improving the quality of utility services for the population. Other grounds for the award include many years of effective work, high professional skills, initiative and dedication to the profession.
The legislation also approves the design of the badge for the new honorary title. Its design incorporates symbols reflecting the characteristics of the public utilities sector.
During the discussion, it was noted that Uzbekistan is carrying out large-scale reforms in the public utilities sector aimed at improving service quality, modernizing utility infrastructure and improving management of the stock of multi-apartment residential buildings.
Senators emphasized that establishing the new honorary title will allow the work of public utility workers to be properly recognized and help raise the prestige of the profession.
The law was approved by the senators following consideration.
