Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan is considering measures to improve the investment attractiveness of its IT sector and simplify market entry for foreign companies.

The issue was discussed by Digital Technologies Minister Sherzod Shermatov at a meeting with representatives of the office of S. Chakraborty, Adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Digital Technologies said.

The talks were attended by legal consultant Marie-Anne Birken and strategic communications and international branding expert Jonathan Charles.

Participants discussed creating more favorable conditions for foreign investors, improving mechanisms for attracting capital and strengthening cooperation between organizations involved in investment promotion.

One of the priorities identified was closer coordination among institutions responsible for attracting investment across different sectors and regions of Uzbekistan. The sides stressed the need to exchange information and develop a unified and clear approach for investors.

Particular attention was paid to small and medium-sized foreign companies. The participants discussed simplifying procedures for such companies seeking to enter the Uzbek market.

The meeting also considered the possibility of applying in other sectors approaches already used in the IT industry when working with investors. The participants emphasized that providing support to investors at every stage, from market entry through project implementation, is important for improving the investment climate.

The sides also discussed cooperation between Enterprise Uzbekistan and other investment platforms. The talks focused on coordinating their activities and providing investors with accurate and systematized information about available opportunities.

Following the meeting, the participants agreed to continue joint work, prepare practical proposals to improve investment attraction mechanisms in the IT sector and strengthen cooperation among relevant organizations.
