Uzbekistan Qatar business ties expanded at chamber talks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —On 21 May, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the State of Qatar held a meeting to discuss the expansion of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by advisers to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Alisher Shaykhov and Jamil Maksudi, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muhammad bin Ahmad Al Obaidli.
The parties reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation and its future development prospects. Particular attention was given to increasing mutual trade turnover, expanding the attraction of Qatari investment into the Uzbek economy, and implementing joint projects in industry, agriculture, logistics, energy, and the service sector.
The discussions also focused on strengthening direct contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries and the regular organization of business forums, trade missions, and B2B meetings.
Separately, the initiative to establish a Uzbekistan–Qatar Business Council was considered, which, as noted, could serve as a platform for systematic interaction between the business communities of the two countries.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial partnership and develop practical cooperation.
