Uzbekistan prepares over 1,100 buses for children’s summer camps

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has prepared more than 1,100 buses for the safe transportation of children to summer health camps ahead of the start of the holiday season.

After the end of the academic year, thousands of schoolchildren will head to summer recreation sites. A set of preparatory measures has been implemented across the country to ensure transport safety and organize children’s leisure activities.

This year, 179 stationary camps and 1,242 school-based health recreation sites will operate nationwide. In total, more than 314,000 children are expected to be covered by summer recreation programs.

A total of 692 road patrol officers have been deployed to ensure road safety during the transportation of children.

Prior to the season, large-scale infrastructure inspections were carried out. More than 3,400 km of roads leading to camps were examined, around 1,300 road signs were installed or replaced, pedestrian crossings were repainted, and sections of transport routes were repaired.

Special attention has been given to transport safety. A total of 1,121 buses have been assigned for transporting children, each of which has passed technical inspection and safety checks.

Organized transportation of children is carried out only under the supervision of road patrol officers.

Authorities are urging parents to comply with traffic rules when taking children to departure points for camps and to ensure proper supervision of children during the summer holidays.
