Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has expanded the conditions under which educational institutions can receive a reduction in fees for state accreditation, allowing the basic fee to be cut by four times.

Under amendments registered by the Ministry of Justice, the fee may be reduced at the request of an educational institution if at least one of five specified conditions is met.

The changes were introduced to the Regulation on Fees for Comprehensive and Special State Accreditation of Educational Institutions and the Procedure for Their Calculation. The amended document was registered on 31 October 2026 under No. 3739-1.

The first ground for a fee reduction is when accreditation of the relevant educational programmes is required to implement instructions established by acts of the President of Uzbekistan, the Head of the Presidential Administration or the Cabinet of Ministers.

The second condition applies to institutions where at least 50% of their active educational programmes have already been accredited by organisations included in Uzbekistan's Register of Recognised Accreditation Organisations. In such cases, a reduction may be granted if the results of previous accreditation assessments can be used to reduce the scope of further evaluation work.

The third ground is the possibility of conducting special state accreditation remotely.

The fourth condition applies when an institution simultaneously submits applications for special state accreditation of 10 or more educational programmes.

The fifth ground concerns situations where the actual scope of accreditation work can be reduced because there is no need to reassess infrastructure shared by several related educational programmes, including facilities, staffing and other resources.

The new provisions therefore allow accreditation fees to be reduced depending on the type of accreditation, previously completed assessments and the actual amount of work required.
