Uzbekistan Launches Telegram Bot to Verify Religious Content

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has launched a new digital service for verifying religious information, a Telegram bot called @dinuzbbot, which allows users to access information on the legality of religious materials, the activities of individuals and organizations, and the existence of court-imposed bans.

According to the report, the launch of the service is linked to the spread of extremist and radical ideas through social media platforms.

The developers say the bot is intended to improve legal awareness among the population and protect citizens, especially young people, from illegal and questionable religious content.

The initiative was developed by the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Committee on Religious Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Through the bot, users can check profiles and materials banned by decisions of the Supreme Court, obtain information about religious literature including authorship, publishing details, and results of theological expertise, and access data on prohibited individuals and organizations.

In addition, the service provides access to official religious websites and channels, regulatory legal documents, and information on licensed travel companies authorized to organize Umrah pilgrimages. Users can also send comments and suggestions on the platform’s operation.

To use the service, users need to find @dinuzbbot on Telegram, start the bot, and select an interface language in Cyrillic or Latin script. After that, all main system functions become available.

Developers say the introduction of the bot is expected to help citizens rely on verified sources of information, avoid content of questionable origin, and improve legal awareness in the religious sphere.
