Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan Discuss Expanding Pharmaceutical Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, including increasing supplies of Uzbek pharmaceutical products to the Kyrgyz market, the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry said.

The meeting was held between Abdulla Azizov, director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, and a Kyrgyz delegation led by Akilbek Turatbek uulu, director of the state enterprise Kyrgyzpharmatsiya under the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health.

During the talks, representatives of the two countries presented the main areas of work of their respective organizations and exchanged views on opportunities for further cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.

Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation with pharmaceutical manufacturers in Uzbekistan.

The sides discussed prospects for increasing supplies of locally produced pharmaceutical products to the Kyrgyz market.

The participants also considered further development of working contacts between representatives of the pharmaceutical industries of the two countries.

Following the talks, the sides expressed their readiness to continue mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen working dialogue and develop practical ties.

The meeting provided a platform for discussing specific areas of cooperation between the sectoral organizations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, primarily in terms of expanding the presence of Uzbek pharmaceutical products in the Kyrgyz market.
