Uzbekistan Joins UN Crime Justice Commission for First Time
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has become a member of the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice for the first time, according to information released following the commission’s 35th session held in Vienna.
The session brought together more than 1,500 senior representatives and experts from 175 countries.
During the current year, Uzbekistan joined the commission as a new member of the international body.
Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva delivered a national statement at the session, presenting the country’s work in the areas of justice reform, protection of women and children, crime prevention, and youth support.
In her address, she said that cybercrime, corruption, and domestic violence have no borders, and that effective responses require international dialogue, exchange of experience, and cooperation between countries.
