Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan hosted the multinational joint special forces exercise Eternal Brotherhood V, involving personnel from special units of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

The manoeuvres aimed to strengthen regional security and stability, develop military cooperation and improve coordination among the three countries’ special forces units.

During the exercise, servicemen exchanged experience and practised planning and conducting joint operations.

The programme included combat missions in mountainous terrain and populated areas, infiltration behind simulated enemy lines, reconnaissance and search operations, and the seizure of key facilities.

Participants also practised rescuing hostages during counterterrorism operations and protecting strategic facilities.

Day and night, they conducted live-fire drills using small arms of various calibres, sniper rifles and specialised equipment.

The final stage of the exercise was observed by Major General Alekper Jahangirov, commander of Azerbaijan’s Special Forces, together with the exercise leadership.

He highly praised the combat skills and level of training of Azerbaijani servicemen.

Following the exercise, a ceremony was held to award servicemen who had distinguished themselves in carrying out their assigned tasks. The event concluded with a group photograph of the participants.
