Uzbekistan Exports to Afghanistan Reach US$550 Million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s exports to Afghanistan reached US$550 million in the first four months of 2026, according to the chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, Davron Vakhabov, who cited steady growth in shipments and a rising number of exporters operating in the market.

He said Afghanistan is strengthening its position as one of the fastest-growing external markets for Uzbek businesses. Export performance showed consistent monthly growth: US$117 million in January, US$125 million in February, US$135 million in March and US$160 million in April.

Out of the total export volume, US$138 million accounted for food supplies. Key product categories included vegetable oil, eggs and live livestock, including poultry.

Vakhabov said vegetable oil exports totaled US$18 million over the reporting period, increasing from US$2 million in January to US$10 million in April. Egg exports reached US$3.5 million, while shipments of live poultry amounted to US$5.7 million, also showing steady month-on-month growth.

The Chamber of Commerce chairman noted that both the number of exporters and the range of exported goods are expanding. He said this trend is linked to systematic efforts to develop economic cooperation with Afghanistan and implement relevant government directives.

He added that the Afghan market remains open to new participants and urged businesses to take greater advantage of export opportunities. He said that if current growth rates continue, trade indicators with Afghanistan could increase significantly by the end of the year.

It was also noted that business delegations of Uzbek entrepreneurs are being organized to several Afghan cities, including Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif, to establish direct business contacts and promote products on site.
