Namangan, Vitebsk Region Expand Industrial, Logistics Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Namangan region, led by Governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzokov, has arrived in Belarus for an official visit. In Vitebsk Region, the Uzbek side discussed expanding cooperation in logistics, industrial cooperation and business ties with regional authorities, the hokimiyat of Namangan region reported.
As part of the visit, Shavkatjon Abdurazzokov met with Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Rogozhnik. The sides discussed strengthening comprehensive cooperation between the two regions and expanding business ties between companies from Namangan and Vitebsk regions.
The delegation’s program began with a visit to the Bremino-Orsha multimodal industrial and logistics complex. According to the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the complex is the largest logistics center in Vitebsk Region and Belarus and has railway terminals, refrigeration facilities and air transport capabilities.
Vitebsk Regional Deputy Chairman Anzhelika Nikitina said the complex’s infrastructure could be used to organize supplies of Belarusian products to Uzbekistan and imports of Uzbek goods, including fresh vegetables, fruits and dried fruits. The facility can consolidate cargo flows, process shipments and organize regular container trains.
The complex could also host enterprises in light industry, woodworking and food production. The areas under consideration include fruit processing and juice production, with potential supplies to Uzbekistan and third countries.
Official talks involving the leaders of the two regions were held at the Orsha District Executive Committee. The main topics included optimizing logistics routes, increasing regular freight transportation and establishing joint ventures.
The visit program also includes a trip to Dokshitsy District, where an agricultural enterprise with Uzbek capital has operated since 2019. The company specializes in sheep farming. During the talks, the sides intend to discuss specific steps to expand and strengthen the operation.
The delegation’s visit will include further discussions on projects and areas of cooperation between the two regions, including logistics, industrial cooperation and agriculture.
