Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Customs Committee has discussed using Türkiye’s LimakPort İskenderun to transport the country’s foreign trade cargo, exploring the port’s logistics infrastructure and opportunities for practical cooperation.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation and establishing working arrangements with businesses involved in foreign economic activity. It followed earlier talks between K. Alijonova, an official representative of Uzbekistan’s Customs Committee in Türkiye, and port representatives.

During the meeting, the Turkish side presented LimakPort İskenderun’s capabilities in cargo handling, storage and transportation. Participants reviewed presentations and video materials on the port’s infrastructure, container handling facilities, railway connections and warehouses.

Particular attention was given to facilities for refrigerated containers. The port has 685 power connection points for such containers, allowing it to accommodate goods that require controlled temperatures during storage and transportation.

The parties discussed the potential use of LimakPort İskenderun’s services for Uzbekistan’s foreign trade shipments and further cooperation with interested organisations.

The information provided did not specify cargo volumes or when practical cooperation might begin.
