Uzbekistan Expands Industrial Cooperation With Air Products
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held talks with the leadership of Air Products, one of the world’s leading producers of industrial gases and chemical products.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer Eduardo Menezes and Regional President Ivo Bols. The sides discussed ongoing cooperation and prospects for new joint projects in Uzbekistan.
It was noted that Air Products has been operating in the country since 2019 and has already implemented projects worth more than US$1 billion. These include production of industrial gases, hydrogen, liquid carbon dioxide, and solutions for the food industry.
Special attention was given to a project for the production of synthesis gas, oxygen, and nitrogen at the MTO gas-chemical complex in Bukhara. The project is considered strategic for the development of Uzbekistan’s petrochemical sector and the introduction of advanced technologies.
The parties agreed to jointly develop a comprehensive plan covering financial and technological solutions for further implementation of the project. The government of Uzbekistan confirmed its readiness to provide necessary support.
The company’s contribution to educational and social infrastructure was also noted, including the American Makerspace initiative in Karshi and the Air Products Industrial Safety Academy in Tashkent, aimed at developing engineering skills and a culture of industrial safety.
The Air Products delegation is taking part in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, held on 16–18 June in the capital. Uzbekistan expressed interest in further expanding its long-term partnership with the company.
