Mirziyoyev Congratulates Uzbekistan’s Construction Workers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated construction workers, architects, engineers, designers and industry veterans on their professional holiday, Construction Workers’ Day. The press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported this.

The congratulatory message noted that the construction industry has become one of the key sectors shaping the appearance of New Uzbekistan. According to the president, modern cities, villages and mahallas, new residential areas, major strategic facilities, enterprises, and the country’s social and economic infrastructure are being created through the work of construction professionals.

Mirziyoyev said that more than 210 million square meters of buildings and structures had been built in Uzbekistan over the past nine years, including 647,000 apartments. Of these, 135,000 apartments were commissioned last year. Another 140,000 new apartments are planned to be commissioned this year. By 2040, the authorities aim to increase annual housing construction to 280,000 apartments and expand the number of “Yangi Uzbekistan” residential areas from 61 to 120.

The president also noted that construction and landscaping of several spiritual and educational sites had been completed this year, including the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex and the Burhaniddin Marg‘inoniy Tourist Center.

Mirziyoyev also highlighted the implementation of major projects, including the construction of New Tashkent in the capital and the cities of Nurafshan in Tashkent region, Babur in Andijan region, Shirin in Samarkand region and Al-Khwarizmi in Khorezm region, using advanced engineering solutions and green construction principles.

According to the president, more than 3.5 million people are employed in the construction industry, construction materials production and related sectors.

The number of procedures required to obtain construction permits has been reduced threefold, while the time required to process them has been cut fourfold.

Twenty-four electronic platforms have been launched through the National Information System “Transparent Construction”, allowing key management processes and all control procedures to be transferred to a digital format. An electronic tender platform has also been introduced into the public procurement system, while artificial intelligence technologies are being actively used in the industry.

The president said these reforms are helping reduce the influence of human factors, eliminate corruption risks and improve the efficiency of decision-making.

He said further development of the sector would focus on improving workers’ professional knowledge, practical experience and qualifications, as well as recognizing and rewarding their work.

Mirziyoyev wished construction workers good health, happiness, prosperity and further professional achievements.
