Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A total of 332 hectares of commercial intensive orchards are planned to be established in the Yangikurgan district of Namangan region in autumn 2026.

The work will be carried out by 16 entrepreneurs under Presidential Decree No. UP-108. Some of the new orchards will replace old plantations, while the rest will be established on land freed up by reducing areas planted with wheat.

Under the plans, 200 hectares of intensive orchards will replace ageing plantations, while another 132 hectares will be created by reducing areas under grain crops.

Namangan Region Governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov reviewed the progress of the projects in the district. In particular, he visited the Pulatov Kodir farm, located within the Toychi Ne'matov Bekabod agro-company, where an intensive orchard is being established on a 10-hectare plot.

The governor also inspected work on an additional 200-hectare plot allocated to Sura General Investments in the Poromon Shohrukhmirzo area. Fencing work is currently under way at the site.

Another project involves Namangan-agro star, for which Yangikurgan district has been designated as a base area.

The company has been leased 100 hectares of land belonging to the Namangan Scientific and Experimental Station of the M. Mirzaev Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture and Winemaking. The plot is located in the Bulakboshi mahalla.

The site is intended for an intensive plantation of Black Splendor and Stanley black plum varieties using drip irrigation. The project also предусматривает the construction of an agro-complex for processing, sorting and storing the harvest before supplying the produce for export.

The district already has experience in intensive horticulture. Namangan Sharbaty has established a 68-hectare orchard in the Bogiston mahalla, where Fuji, Pink Lady and Golden apple varieties are grown. This year, the orchard produced 100 tonnes of apples, which were sent for export and processing.

Following his visits to the sites, the regional governor gave those responsible recommendations on implementing the projects.

The stated objectives include improving the efficiency of agricultural land use and developing the production of higher value-added goods.
