Uzbekistan Expands Digital Transformation in Schools
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is continuing to implement its “Ishonch-2030” program to accelerate the digital transformation of school education, supported by UNICEF and partner organizations, officials said.
The initiative aims to develop digital competencies among teachers and introduce modern technologies, including information and communication technologies (ICT) and artificial intelligence tools, into the learning process and school management systems.
A series of training seminars was held in Tashkent, Samarkand, Ferghana, Termez, and Khiva, involving 264 participants. They included school principals, deputy principals, regional methodologists, as well as teachers of science subjects and foreign languages.
Participants were introduced to practical tools and approaches designed to improve teaching efficiency and increase student engagement through the use of digital technologies.
The main objective of the program is to strengthen teachers’ skills in integrating ICT and artificial intelligence into both school administration and classroom instruction.
During the sessions, participants learned to use digital platforms, develop educational content, and apply collaborative lesson planning and peer evaluation methods. Special emphasis was placed on practical, real-world applications tailored to educational environments.
According to participants, digital tools are opening new opportunities for teaching and school management. English teacher from Samarkand Region Feruza Rozimuradova said the rapid development of ICT requires continuous skill upgrading and noted that she plans to apply the knowledge gained in her work and share it with colleagues.
Meanwhile, STEM methodologist from Bukhara Region Mukhabat Juraeva highlighted the importance of such training programs for professional development and improving the quality of education.
Organizers said the seminars helped participants strengthen competencies in digital pedagogy, master new approaches to using artificial intelligence and digital platforms, and expand cooperation among education specialists across regions. They added that digital transformation is becoming a key element in modernizing the country’s school system.
The program is being implemented in partnership with UNICEF, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the Abdullah Avloni National Institute of Pedagogical Skills Improvement, and regional teacher development centers.
It is aimed at updating teaching methodologies and supporting schools in adopting modern digital solutions in the education process.
