Uzbekistan Discusses Food Export Growth With Expert

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Food Safety Committee Chairman Azizbek Urunov met with international expert and AMC Overseas FZE Director Suvra Chakraborty to discuss measures to increase the country's export potential for agricultural and food products.

The sides examined opportunities to expand access for local producers and exporters to international markets and improve export processes in line with modern requirements, Uzbekistan's Food Safety Committee said.

Particular attention was given to strengthening the practical knowledge and skills of local exporters. The discussions covered international market analysis, identifying foreign buyers and conducting effective negotiations with potential partners.

The sides also considered practical aspects of organising export shipments, including the proper implementation of logistics and customs procedures, product certification in accordance with international standards and preparation of the required documentation.

As noted during the meeting, product competitiveness in foreign markets depends not only on quality. Packaging, storage conditions, logistics-chain management and increasing added value also play an important role.

The participants exchanged views on adapting international experience in these areas to Uzbekistan's conditions and providing practical support to local entrepreneurs.

In 2025-2026, educational seminars involving Chakraborty were already held in Uzbekistan's regions for representatives of dehkan and farming enterprises, as well as entrepreneurs.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue educational programmes aimed at sharing international practical experience.

The committee highlighted the importance of international experts' practical experience in increasing the export potential of local entrepreneurs, strengthening the competitiveness of Uzbek products in foreign markets and expanding the geographical reach of Uzbekistan's food exports.
