Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Oil depots operated by Uzbekneftegaz recorded a net profit for the first time in the company's history, posting a positive financial result of 25.2 billion soums in the first nine months of the year, compared with a loss of 108.3 billion soums in the same period last year. The number of profitable depots increased from three at the beginning of the year to 13, the company's information service said.
The improvement followed measures to increase the operational efficiency of the depots under the leadership of Uzbekneftegaz Chairman of the Management Board Abdgani Sanginov. Results for the nine-month period and further priorities were discussed at a practical seminar held at Kuchlik Neft Bazasi LLC under the leadership of Deputy Chairman of the Management Board A. Khudoyberganov.
During the reporting period, the depots sold 191,000 tonnes of petroleum products, 1.7 times the volume recorded in the first nine months of the previous year. Daily fuel sales at petrol stations rose from 245,000 litres at the beginning of the year to 1.237 million litres.
The network's infrastructure was also upgraded. A total of 121 filling points were converted into modern petrol stations, while 87 new fuel dispensers were installed at another 56 stations.
Debt levels declined significantly during the period. Liabilities to the Bukhara Oil Refinery fell by 296.7 billion soums, while consumer receivables decreased by 56.8 billion soums.
Digitalisation of sales accounting and monitoring has become another key area of reform. Video surveillance systems were installed at 60 petrol stations, 10 of which were connected to a situation centre at the company's headquarters. Work at the remaining sites is ongoing.
The company expects centralised monitoring of petroleum product movements and sales to improve operational transparency, strengthen financial discipline and reduce corruption risks.
Further priorities include increasing daily sales, gradually reconstructing petrol stations according to an approved design and fully digitalising oil depots and filling stations.
The digitalisation programme предусматривает the installation of electronic railway scales, equipment to measure petroleum product levels and density, modern fuel dispensers and intelligent surveillance cameras. It also includes integrating the systems with the 1C software platform.
