Uzbekistan Discusses Agricultural Reforms With ITC
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov held a meeting with the Chief Economist of the International Trade Centre, Tristan Evans, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector and the introduction of modern approaches and innovative solutions.
The talks focused on reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to modernise agriculture and accelerate the digital transformation of the sector. The sides exchanged views on the digitalisation of agriculture, the use of modern information technologies, and improving management efficiency.
The discussions also addressed measures to ensure transparency in agricultural supply chains, strengthen food security, and expand export potential. It was noted that ongoing reforms play an important role in building a competitive agricultural system aligned with international standards.
The parties also considered prospects for attracting foreign investment into the agricultural sector and further strengthening cooperation with international financial institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their readiness to develop mutually beneficial cooperation and support joint initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of the sector.
