Uzbekistan defeats New Zealand at world champs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New Zealand have gone down 0-3 to Uzbekistan in their opening match of the world women’s volleyball championship at Kazakhstan’s Palace of Sports.

New Zealand lost the Asian group second round pool B match 20-25, 17-25, 19-25.

The three teams in the group, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and New Zealand, are all assured of spots in the third round after Maldives pulled out prior to the competition.
