Uzbekistan Customs, WEBB FONTAINE Discuss AI Implementation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Customs Committee of Uzbekistan hosted a delegation from UAE-based WEBB FONTAINE to discuss the digitalization of customs administration and the integration of modern technologies, according to the press service of the Customs Committee.
Discussions focused on information technology, risk management, and the refinement of customs control mechanisms. Agenda items also included customs valuation, commodity classification, transit procedure monitoring, and the development of the Single Window system.
The application of artificial intelligence in customs operations formed a key topic of discussion. Participants examined technical solutions capable of analyzing large datasets, generating risk indicators, detecting violations, and supporting decision-making processes.
Opening the meeting, I. Mukhtorov, advisor to the chairman of the Customs Committee, stated that digitalizing customs administration, adopting advanced technologies, and strengthening international cooperation represent priority objectives for the agency.
E. Khakimov, head of a department at the Customs Committee, presented an overview of current information systems, ongoing technological requirements, and prospective areas for technical cooperation.
Representatives from WEBB FONTAINE presented company solutions and practical experience, detailing trade facilitation platforms, information system architecture, and integration capabilities with national information systems.
The parties also reviewed customs valuation and commodity classification, exchanging views on comparative price analysis, mechanisms to detect customs undervaluation, commodity classification under the HS code system, and the further development of post-clearance control and audit systems.
