Uzbekistan Clarifies School Schedule for 11 May

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Public schools in Uzbekistan will hold classes on 11 May 2026, while state preschool institutions will remain closed, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education said.

The decision was made in accordance with a presidential decree issued on 24 December 2025, regarding the transfer of public holidays in 2026. In 2026, the Day of Memory and Honors, observed on May 9, falls on a Saturday, with the day off moved to Monday, 11 May.

However, classes on 11 May will not apply to all schoolchildren. Primary school students will be exempt from lessons that day, while middle and high school students will attend classes as usual.

State-run kindergartens will remain closed on 11 May 2026. Non-state educational institutions will determine their operating schedules independently in line with their internal regulations.
