Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed officials to ensure a stable supply of hydrocarbon resources to the domestic market and prevent unjustified price increases, according to the presidential press service.

During a presentation, the head of state was briefed on measures to stabilize the oil and gas market, maintain uninterrupted supplies to households and economic sectors, and build up necessary reserves.

The meeting addressed issues related to oil and gas extraction, imports, processing, storage, and delivery. Officials highlighted the need to accurately calculate regional and sectoral demands, prioritize domestic market needs, and strictly adhere to delivery schedules.

Special attention was given to JSC Uzbekneftegaz maintaining stable natural gas extraction rates, effectively utilizing existing fields, and commissioning new wells on time.

A total of 27 wells are planned to be commissioned in August. Operations at the Yangi Kultak, Niyoz, Koratau, Marvarid, and Tegirmon fields are expected to yield an additional 887,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

The president emphasized the necessity of daily oversight across all operations, from drilling wells to connecting them to the gas transmission system. He also ordered steps to ensure the uninterrupted operation of power supplies and production infrastructure.

The presentation also covered expanding the production of goods in high demand domestically and making more efficient use of existing manufacturing capacity. Responsible officials were tasked with ensuring even distribution of hydrocarbon resources to regions and building up necessary reserves in advance.

To maintain price stability, officials were instructed to sustain adequate market supply, offer products at commodity exchanges based on demand, and reduce production and logistics costs.

Furthermore, instructions were issued to prevent unreasonable supply restrictions, artificial shortages, and actions aimed at inflating prices. Responsible parties were tasked with conducting daily analysis of domestic market needs, identifying supply risks early, and taking timely corrective action.

JSC Uzbekneftegaz was instructed to meet target production figures for oil and gas. In addition, liquefied gas production by the end of the year must be increased to 606,000 tonnes, compared to the previously planned 520,000 tonnes.
