Uzbekistan Civil Courts to Appoint Specialized Labor Judges
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Starting 1 August 2026, judges specializing in hearing labor disputes will begin operating in civil courts across Uzbekistan. The relevant resolution was adopted by the Presidium of the Supreme Court.
The specialization is being introduced within the existing staffing levels of the courts and is aimed at improving the quality and speed of resolving labor conflicts.
In the Judicial Panel for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court, four judges will handle labor disputes. In the judicial panels for civil cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional courts, and the Tashkent City Court, three specialized judges will be assigned to each.
The new specialization is also being introduced in inter-district and city civil courts.
Two labor dispute judges each will work in the Nukus, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Karshi, Karmana, Namangan, Termez, Ferghana, and Urgench inter-district courts, as well as in the Samarkand City Court.
In Tashkent Region, two specialized judges have been appointed to the Ohangaron inter-district court, and one each to the Ortachirchiq and Yangiyol inter-district courts.
In the capital, two judges specializing in labor disputes will work in each of the Mirzo-Ulugbek, Mirabad, Shaykhontohur, Uchtepa, and Yakkasaray inter-district civil courts.
In the Kattakurgan inter-district court, one specialized position is provided.
According to the resolution, all applications regarding labor disputes received by the courts starting from 1 August will be automatically distributed among the specialized judges.
Meanwhile, cases received up to and including 31 July, as well as those already accepted for proceedings, will be reviewed under the previous system without changing the composition of the court.
