Uzbek Companies Increase Purchases on Belarusian Commodity Exchange by 21%
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek companies have increased their volume of purchases on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE). Following the results of January–June 2026, the value of transactions involving residents of Uzbekistan exceeded US$66 million, representing a 21 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the BUCE press service, as of the end of the first half of the year, 282 companies from Uzbekistan were accredited on the exchange, which is 30 more than at the beginning of the current year.
Prospects for further development of cooperation were discussed during negotiations between the Chairman of the Board of BUCE, Aleksandr Osmolovsky, the Director of the Center for Raising the Efficiency of Projects and Procurement of Uzbekistan, Nazmijiddinhodja Sharipov, and the General Director of Technopark LLC, Sarvar Akhadov.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop mechanisms to simplify mutual access for participants to the electronic trading platforms of the two countries, organize the exchange of price information, and share experience in introducing digital technologies in the field of state and corporate procurement.
Aleksandr Osmolovsky noted that Belarus and Uzbekistan adhere to similar approaches regarding the development of exchange trading and the construction of modern systems for state and corporate procurement, expressing readiness to expand interaction in areas of mutual interest.
The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004, and the first exchange trading took place in June 2005.
The Center for Raising the Efficiency of Projects and Procurement of Uzbekistan was formed in accordance with a presidential decree in 2018. The institution is engaged in the evaluation of investment projects, pre-project, project, and tender documentation, as well as technical specifications within the framework of state development programs and the state procurement system.
