Mirziyoyev and Lukashenko discuss further bilateral ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a telephone conversation on 30 August to discuss the further development of bilateral strategic partnership, the Uzbek presidential press service said.

Mirziyoyev congratulated Lukashenko on his birthday and wished him good health, well-being and success, while wishing peace and prosperity to the Belarusian people.

In turn, the Belarusian leader congratulated Mirziyoyev and the multinational people of Uzbekistan on the upcoming Independence Day, wishing the country sustainable development and prosperity.

During the telephone conversation, the sides discussed further deepening Uzbek-Belarusian relations, taking into account agreements reached during Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Minsk on 8–9 July 2026.

The leaders noted with satisfaction the increased intensity of bilateral contacts and exchanges, particularly at the regional level between the two countries.

At the beginning of 2026, trade between Uzbekistan and Belarus increased by 28%. At the same time, industrial and manufacturing cooperation projects are being implemented in agriculture, machinery, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, light industry and other sectors.

The two heads of state also discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral meetings and events.
