Uzbekistan, Belarus Delegations Visit Nuclear Power Plant Site

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Delegations from Uzbekistan and Belarus visited the construction site of an integrated nuclear power plant in the Farish district of the Jizzakh region on 20 July, according to the Uzatom Agency.

The visiting delegation included Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Achilbay Ramatov, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich, Director of the Uzatom Agency Azim Akhmedkhadjaev, and Minister of Energy of Belarus Denis Moroz.

During the visit, the delegations reviewed the implementation of the project, the progress of construction and installation work, the creation of related infrastructure, and the main stages of building the future plant.

The parties discussed utilizing Belarusian experience in creating a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan. Discussions focused on expert support during the design, construction, and subsequent operation stages of the facility.

Participants also paid special attention to training qualified personnel for the nuclear industry, exchanging practical experience, and developing cooperation between specialized educational institutions of the two countries.
