Uzbekistan, AzerSun discuss agro-processing development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov, who is on a working visit to Azerbaijan, held talks with representatives of AzerSun Holding, Tahir Gozel and Savas Ozcan, to discuss prospects for expanding agro-industrial cooperation and attracting investment.
The main focus of the meeting was on achieving practical results in cooperation, introducing technologies, and launching joint projects in the industrial processing of agricultural products.
Special attention was given to the development of the sugar industry. It was noted that annual sugar consumption in Uzbekistan amounts to around one million tons. In this context, the Azerbaijani company presented proposals for establishing modern production and logistics solutions.
The Minister of Agriculture supported the initiatives, emphasizing Uzbekistan’s readiness for open dialogue and implementation of investment projects in the sector.
The sides also discussed cooperation in deep processing of fruits and vegetables, the introduction of modern canning technologies, and the production of juices, jams, and other finished goods. Particular attention was paid to agricultural consulting and training of specialists.
Representatives of AzerSun Holding expressed readiness to develop cooperation at the initial stage not only through investment, but also through experience sharing and consulting support.
Following the talks, the sides agreed to develop a business plan for the sugar industry, establish joint working groups, and prepare new investment projects.
