Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — In Seoul, Abdulla Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, met with Park Sang-hwe, President of the Seoul Public Health Association (SPHA), and industry experts.

The sides discussed introducing digital technologies in healthcare and applying South Korea’s experience in modern healthcare management in Uzbekistan, the press service of Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry reported.

The meeting was held on 12 August as part of Azizov’s working visit to the Republic of Korea. Participants reviewed ongoing healthcare projects, digitalization issues and possible areas for further cooperation.

One of the key areas of discussion was the introduction of digital systems for clinic management. The sides also considered the possible use of “Smart Hospital” standards in the design and equipping of medical facilities.

Particular attention was paid to modern approaches to clinical management. The participants discussed studying South Korea’s experience in this area and the possibility of adapting it to Uzbekistan’s conditions.

Following the talks, the sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document is intended to ensure the systematic development of cooperation in priority areas and the implementation of joint projects.

The Agency said the agreement should provide a basis for expanding practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea in the digital transformation of healthcare, modern clinical management and the introduction of innovative approaches.
