Uzbekistan and SLB Discuss Geological Digitalization Push

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting in Tashkent on 12 May with a delegation from the international company SLB (Schlumberger), led by Vice President for the Asia region Lindsay Lomas.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Mining Industry and Geology B. Islamov, First Deputy Minister F. Khamidova, and heads of relevant departments within the ministry.

The parties discussed the current state of cooperation with SLB, as well as initiatives aimed at developing professional competencies within the ministry’s system and implementing prospective industry projects.

Special attention was given to the digitalization of the mining and geological sectors, as well as the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies into management processes and data analysis.

Following the meeting, participants exchanged views on further areas of cooperation and confirmed their interest in continuing collaboration in technological and educational aspects of the sector.
