Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Georgia have introduced the E-permit electronic system for international road freight transport. National carriers will now receive permits for bilateral and transit shipments, as well as transport to and from third countries, in electronic form, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport said.

The transition to the electronic format is aimed at simplifying the permit application process for national carriers and reducing administrative delays. The corresponding paper permit forms for Georgia have been removed from the category of permits subject to distribution.

Carriers will be able to obtain the new permits based on submitted applications. Documents will be issued exclusively through the E-permit system, without the use of paper forms.

The Ministry of Transport said the electronic system is expected to speed up the process of obtaining permits for international road transport. The transition to a digital format will also reduce the use of paper documents and minimize the impact of human factors.

The new system is also intended to make the permit process more convenient and transparent for national carriers engaged in international freight transportation between Uzbekistan and Georgia.
