Uzbekistan and Belarus Discuss Interparliamentary Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Alisher Agzamkhodjayev, the Chairman of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism, has held a meeting with Alexander Ogorodnikov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan. The parties discussed prospects for the further development of bilateral cooperation.
The negotiations took place on 30 June 2026. Primary attention was focused on strengthening Uzbek-Belarusian relations, above all the development of interparliamentary interaction, as well as the expansion of cooperation in the trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian, and tourism spheres.
During the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of intensifying parliamentary diplomacy, continuing mutual visits, and holding joint events. The sides also noted the need to further develop interaction within international parliamentary platforms.
Following the negotiations, the participants reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen friendly relations and the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus, expand interparliamentary dialogue, and consistently develop practical cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
