EDB and Yashil Energiya Partner for Green Energy
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the joint venture Yashil Energiya LLC signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of renewable energy on 16 June 2026 within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
According to the agreements, the parties plan to jointly finance and implement projects involving distributed solar generation, the construction of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and small hydroelectric power plants in Uzbekistan.
The partnership involves forming a portfolio of promising projects in the energy sector, introducing digital solutions, and developing service models aimed at supporting the green transition in both the public and private sectors.
Alexey Skatin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the EDB, noted that the development of renewable energy is one of the bank's priorities in Uzbekistan. According to him, the partnership with Yashil Energiya will allow the introduction of modern technological and digital solutions that contribute to the country's progress toward carbon neutrality and create new opportunities for business and the population.
Nodirbek Nasretdinov, General Director of the joint venture Yashil Energiya LLC, emphasized that cooperation with the EDB opens a new stage for the company and will allow for the scaling up of projects in distributed energy and charging infrastructure, which are significant for the growing economy of Uzbekistan.
The materials also note that Uzbekistan is already among the regional leaders in the development of green energy. According to data from the international analytical center Ember, 12 percent of the country's electricity was generated from solar and wind power in 2025.
Furthermore, the country's development strategy provides for reaching 20 GW of installed renewable energy capacity and a 54 percent share in total power generation by 2030.
