Uzbekistan Airways Introduces New Pilot Training Simulator
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airways has introduced a new flight simulator at its Training Center as part of efforts to modernize pilot education and strengthen the airline’s training infrastructure.
A ceremony marking the installation of the simulator was held at the Uzbekistan Airways Training Center. It was attended by Chairman of the Board Shukhrat Khudaikulov, heads of structural divisions, instructors, cadets and media representatives.
According to the airline, the new simulator represents an important upgrade of the center’s material and technical base. The decision is aimed at improving pilot training systems and introducing modern educational technologies in Uzbekistan’s aviation sector.
Rustom Turabov, Director of the Training Center, said the simulator allows cadets to practice flying Diamond DA40 NG and Diamond DA42-VI aircraft in conditions closely resembling real flight operations. He noted that the equipment accurately reproduces aircraft characteristics and expands training capabilities.
The simulator system was manufactured by Austria’s Diamond Aircraft Industries and integrated into Uzbekistan Airways’ pilot training program. The equipment complies with international standards of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Practical training for cadets will also continue at Egmont Aviation in Slovenia.
The complex includes simulators for both single-engine and twin-engine aircraft, enabling a step-by-step training process from basic skills to advanced flight preparation.
Chairman of Uzbekistan Airways Shukhrat Khudaikulov said the introduction of modern technologies is part of a systematic effort to develop the aviation sector. He emphasized that state support for pilot training creates conditions for fleet expansion and improved education quality.
During the event, second pilot certificates were also awarded. The documents were presented to graduates of the Flight School and cadets who successfully completed training stages and flight exercises on a Boeing 767 after passing required examinations.
The airline noted that theoretical training takes place in Tashkent, while practical training is conducted in Slovenia in cooperation with Egmont Aviation. During the approximately two-and-a-half-month program, cadets complete 65 flight hours.
After completing this stage, graduates proceed to the next phase of training under the MCC program, which includes simulator training on the Airbus A320.
