Uzbek President meets with Indian PM

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov met with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in Tashkent on 23 June 2016.

Indian official arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

At the talks, Islam Karimov and Narendra Modi discussed issues of deepening bilateral relations between two nations.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov stated that Uzbekistan supports intentions of India to become member of the SCO and this will further improve authority of the organization, as well as serve for peaceful life and prosperity of the region’s people.

Narendra Modi said that India is interested in further developing cooperation with Uzbekistan.
