Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Applications are being accepted for the second stage of the Uzbek Gift Contest, organised by Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee in cooperation with the Hunarmand Association and the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
The contest aims to promote traditional handicrafts as modern tourist souvenirs, support the creative potential of artisans in the regions and encourage the production of compact, high-quality and affordable souvenirs for tourists.
The second stage is open to artisans, who are required to create souvenir products based on 10 sketches and designs selected as winners in the first stage.
Artisans may adapt and improve the designs according to their specialisation and creative vision, including by changing the materials, colours and other product characteristics.
Participants can register through the online platform and submit their entries to regional offices of the Hunarmand Association by 10 November 2026.
A jury will assess the submissions and select the 10 best products. Each winner will receive a cash prize of 20 million soums.
In addition, the Tourism Committee and the Hunarmand Association will help the winners bring their products to online marketplaces and platforms. They will also assist in engaging specialists in social media marketing (SMM), targeted advertising and other marketing areas for up to three months, with the costs of their services and additional expenses reimbursed in accordance with the established procedure.
The organisers will also support the promotion of the new products and help artisans access export markets.
