Uzbek foreign trade increases by 8.1% in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan grew by 8.1% year-on-year to US$4.78 billion in the first quarter of 2009.

Exports of Uzbekistan increased by 6.1% year-on-year to US$2.493 billion, while imports rose by 10.3% year-on-year to US$2.287 billion.

Current account balance was US$206.9 million in the reporting period, including US$93.8 million with the CIS states and US$113.1 million with other foreign states.
