Uzbek Health Ministry Discusses Cooperation with Cambridge
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Eldor Adilov met with a delegation from the University of Cambridge specializing in medical education, according to the press service of the Ministry of Health.
The parties discussed improving the quality of medical staff training and enhancing educational programs.
During the meeting, officials noted that efforts are underway in Uzbekistan to elevate the quality of medical education and align it with international standards.
As part of these efforts, curricula at medical higher education institutions are being revised, the link between theoretical training and clinical practice is being strengthened, students' practical skills are being developed, and modern knowledge assessment mechanisms are being implemented.
Eldor Adilov noted that the University of Cambridge is regarded as an important partner in this direction.
The sides reviewed prospects for cooperation in medical training and the implementation of modern, outcome-oriented medical education models.
Special attention was given to a comprehensive analysis of medical university curricula and their improvement in line with international approaches. The gradual adaptation of Cambridge University's advanced experience while taking into account the characteristics of the national education system was also discussed.
During the meeting, participants highlighted the importance of an upcoming two-day practical workshop for the further development of cooperation.
Following the meeting, both parties expressed mutual interest in developing partnership relations in the field of medical education.
