Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Consulate General of Uzbekistan has assisted a citizen of Uzbekistan who became homeless in Yekaterinburg and was forced to sleep on the street for several days to return to his homeland, Dunyo news agency reported.
A local resident contacted the consulate to report the situation regarding the Uzbek citizen, identified as O.V., a native of the Navoi region. According to her report, the man had been left without housing and lacked basic living conditions for several days.
Consular staff promptly addressed the request and interviewed O.V. After establishing his identity and clarifying the circumstances of the incident, consular officials contacted the citizen's relatives.
With the assistance of the Consulate General, necessary measures were subsequently taken to facilitate his return to his place of permanent residence. As a result, the Uzbek national safely departed from Yekaterinburg to Tashkent and returned to Uzbekistan.
