Turkmen leader congratulates Uzbek president on capital city’s anniversary

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Uzbek President Islam Karimov on Tashkent’s 2,200th anniversary.

“Accept my sincere congratulations on an important occasion - the 2,200th anniversary of the founding of the city of Tashkent”, the Turkmen president’s message said. “Tashkent is contributing a great deal to Uzbekistan’s development”, he added.

“Every time I visit Tashkent, I see for myself its residents’ respect and sympathy towards Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people. I consider this as another important factor in gradually strengthening fraternal ties between the two countries and their peoples”, the message reads.

“Taking this opportunity, I wish the brotherly people of Uzbekistan peace, happiness and prosperity”, Berdimuhamedov said.
