Teen Driver Hits Three Schoolgirls in Kokand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A minor driving a Chevrolet Malibu struck three schoolgirls at a pedestrian crossing in Kokand, the Interior Affairs Department of the Ferghana region reported.

According to the authorities, the incident occurred on 20 May on Amir Temur Street. A minor identified as Z.A., who was driving the Malibu, hit three girls born in 2016 as they were crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.

One of the victims died in hospital as a result of the injuries sustained.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. The driver has been detained and investigative actions are ongoing.
