Tashkent Leads Uzbekistan in Number of Enterprises

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 April 2026, there are 577,200 active enterprises and organizations registered in Uzbekistan, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises increased by 41,300, reflecting a growth rate of 7.7 percent.

Tashkent city remains the leader in terms of the number of operating enterprises, with 109,781 entities functioning in the capital. Tashkent region ranks second with 54,542 enterprises, followed by Samarkand region with 53,457 and Fergana region with 49,303.

A significant number of enterprises are also registered in Kashkadarya region with 44,221, Andijan region with 35,524, Bukhara region with 35,098, and Namangan region with 33,796. In Khorezm region, 32,512 enterprises are operating, while Surkhandarya region accounts for 32,030 enterprises, and the Republic of Karakalpakstan for 29,471.

In Jizzakh region, 26,741 enterprises are registered, in Navoi region 24,208, while the lowest figure is recorded in Syrdarya region with 16,522 enterprises.

Overall, the highest concentration of business activity remains in the capital and the country’s most populous regions.
