Sodik Safoev Meets with Outgoing Azerbaijan Ambassador

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Sodik Safoev, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Huseyn Guliyev, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan. The parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of strategic partnership and alliance.

During the talks, it was noted that thanks to mutual trust and active political dialogue between the leaders of the two countries, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan has been consistently developing across a wide range of areas in recent years. According to the assessment of the meeting participants, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, interregional, and interparliamentary ties are strengthening.

Huseyn Guliyev, in turn, stated that he considers it a great honor to be awarded the "Mehnat Shuhrati" order by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. According to the diplomat, the state award symbolizes the high level of friendship, brotherly relations, and strategic trust between the two countries. He also highly praised the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of the head of state.

The parties paid special attention to issues of further developing cooperation between relevant parliamentary committees and interparliamentary cooperation groups, exchanging experience in legislative activity and parliamentary control, as well as expanding cooperation within international parliamentary organizations.
