Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviews poultry cluster and super-intensive orchard in Namangan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to the Namangan region, familiarized himself with the results of major investment projects in the agricultural and livestock sectors of the region. The head of state visited the "Uychi Parranda" poultry enterprise in the Turakurgan district and studied the experience of creating super-intensive orchards on previously unused lands in the Pap district.

The Uychi Parranda poultry cluster expanded across an area of 121 hectares thanks to the attraction of US$50 million in loan funds from a commercial bank. The enterprise maintains 60,000 head of breeding chickens purchased from the leading Hungarian genetics company Aviagen.

The main competitive advantage of the complex is its fully closed cycle: from incubation to processing. Modern technologies allow for the daily collection of 60,000 breeding eggs and the hatching of up to 50,000 chicks in incubators. Production lines for broiler meat output are designed to house 100,000 birds in a single block — yielding up to 120 tons of chicken meat during a cycle lasting 45–50 days.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to scale this successful experience by building new poultry farms in the Mingbulak, Namangan, Naryn, Pap, Uychi, Chust, and Chartak districts. This will allow the total poultry population in the region to reach 12 million, create up to 1,000 new jobs taking cooperation into account, stabilize meat and egg prices throughout the Ferghana Valley, and boost exports. On the premises of the enterprise, the president also held a meeting with local farmers and dekhkans.

The second key point of the presentation was a 100-hectare super-intensive orchard established in the Pap district. The cost of this project amounted to 20.7 billion soums. Thanks to innovative solutions, stony, arid lands that had not been cultivated for many years due to water supply issues were returned to economic circulation.

A total of 66.6 thousand high-yielding saplings have been planted on the territory: 40,000 apricots (across 60 hectares), 16.6 thousand peaches (across 25 hectares), and 10,000 cherry trees (across 15 hectares). Due to drip irrigation systems, it is planned to harvest up to 20 tons of fruit per hectare, which is several times higher than the performance of conventional orchards. The project carries high social significance: within the framework of cooperation, 300 low-income families received 30 acres of land each in this orchard to ensure a stable income.

In the Namangan region, the work to involve vacant lands into economic circulation is of a strategic nature. While 38,900 hectares were returned to agricultural circulation between 2019 and 2024, this figure increased by another 7,028 hectares in 2025. According to the approved program, it is planned to gradually develop another 18,000 hectares of unused land plots in the region by 2028.
