Services Sector Generates Over Half of Uzbekistan's GDP in Q1 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — According to preliminary data released by the National Committee on Statistics, Uzbekistan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached 447.9 trillion soums at current prices during the period from January to March 2026.

Within the structural framework of the GDP, the gross value added generated by all economic sectors totaled 427.5 trillion soums, accounting for 95.4% of the total economy. Net taxes on products comprised the remaining 20.4 trillion soums, representing 4.6% of the GDP.

The services sector made the most significant contribution to the gross value added, reaching a volume of 240.1 trillion soums, or 56.2% of the sector total.

Industry secured the second position with a total output of 124.9 trillion soums, which translates to 29.2% of the gross value added.

Meanwhile, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries accounted for 36.2 trillion soums (8.4%), followed by the construction sector at 26.4 trillion soums, or 6.2%.

These figures demonstrate that the services sector successfully maintains its status as the leading pillar of Uzbekistan's economy, generating more than half of the country's gross value added.
