During the first six months of the year, the capital accounted for 21.1% of Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product. This was the highest contribution among the country’s regions.

The services sector forms the foundation of Tashkent’s economy. In January–June, it accounted for 67.9% of the capital’s GRP structure, also the highest figure among the regions of Uzbekistan.

Industry accounted for 20.1% of the city’s GRP, while construction contributed a further 12%.
