Samarkand to host ADB 59th Annual Meeting in 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Samarkand will host the 59th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) from 3 to 6 May2026, under the theme “Crossroads of Progress”.

The forum is expected to bring together more than 3,000 delegates from 69 countries, including finance ministers, central bank governors, and representatives of international business.

The event is anticipated to become one of the key global platforms for discussing priorities in economic development. The agenda will focus on green transformation, digitalization, and the mobilization of investment.

The program includes between 70 and 90 events over four days. A dedicated business forum will focus on infrastructure development through public-private partnership mechanisms, as well as attracting private capital to support sustainable growth.

The event will receive broad international media coverage, with 117 accredited journalists, including 84 foreign correspondents from 29 countries. This is expected to ensure global dissemination of initiatives and policy discussions in climate, economic development, and regional integration.

Alongside the meetings of the ADB Board of Governors, the program will feature thematic seminars, panel discussions, and youth sessions.

The hosting of the forum in Samarkand is expected to strengthen the city’s position as an international platform for strategic dialogue between the public and private sectors, while also contributing to the expansion of investment and economic cooperation.
